This is a premium remanufactured VP44 Fuel Injection Pump for the 1998.5-2002 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 24 Valve 5.9L Cummins diesel engine. Installation Notes: Proper Key-way Alignment is Critical!
The most common failure during VP44 installation is a misaligned or smashed drive shaft key. If the key is not perfectly seated, it will be pushed out of the slot during installation, causing the engine to be out of time or preventing it from starting entirely. A sheared key is an installation error, not a pump failure, it is very important to take the little time to verify this beforehand, as it could save hours of labor in the end.
- Use the provided Key ONLY!
- Every pump is matched with a specific keyway
- The number key must match the pump for accurate fuel timing
- DO NOT reuse the key from your old pump or a generic woodruff key
